The display architecture for the touring exhibition ‘Actopolis – The Art of Action’ offers a simple, light and flexible structure to display the contents of a series of performances and workshops, previously developed over a period of 3 years as part of the transnational project initiated by the Goethe-Institute Athens and Urbane Künste Ruhr. The modular system of stained and printed timber panels takes up on the idea of urban forms and spaces and can be flexibly assembled to form displays, shapes and spaces in various scales and sizes. The project’s ‘graphic identity’, developed by NODE Berlin/Oslo, is spatially translated into colourful geometric surfaces to create simple stages and spaces stimulating action and public encounters. The exhibition system with all its components flexibly adapts to the different exhibition venues providing a unique setting for each location while linking the places in form and content to create a ‘transnational action space’ with a strong distinctive design.
