As part of the group exhibition ‘Nervous Systems’ at HKW Haus der Kulturen der Welt Berlin we have designed four large bespoke display vitrines for the art piece ‘Algorithmic Trading Freak Show’ (2013/14) by Parisian artist collective RYBN.ORG. The design of the modular table vitrines was developed in close collaboration with the artist group to accommodate various forms of media such as display screens, scientific articles and objects turning the table vitrines into a cabinet of curiosities. The glass covering at the top gives a continuous flush finish to the variety of objects within the body of the table and the dark stained timber construction gives the vitrines an elegant and genuine appearance. The vitrines rest on a solid timber frame base with distinctive proportions creating different views from different angles between opacity and transparency.
